The best chest workout for men

As a beginner, there is no need to hurry; many are tempted to start off too fast. The first thing is to know that you need to build your upper, inner as well as lower chest muscles. This will be achieved by pressing, lifting and pulling. When it comes to sets and repetitions, start off slow with few ones. One to three sets of less than 10 repetitions is good enough for any beginner. As you get used to it, increase the sets accordingly. It is always wise to break the routine and take a break for a minute to a minute and a half.

Caution with weights

It is important to start with smaller weights at the beginning. They should be inline with your body size to avoid injury. Some of the weights that men can use for chest workout include kettlebells, dumbbells or barbells. Make sure to use weights that just fatigue you and not injure you. In addition, if you have a personal trainer, follow instructions to the letter. If not, follow manuals or look at free online videos on the best workout to avoid pain and injury. Apart from your body size, your strength and experience will matter when you are choosing weights.

Effective chest workouts

There are all manner of exercises that are designed to tone the chest. However, it is important to know the most effective ones to narrow down your options. According to a study by the American Council on Exercise (ACE), the barbell bench press is definitely the most effective workout. It delivers 100 percent pectoral activation of the muscle. The second exercise is the pec deck at 98 percent; followed by bent-forward cable crossover. With the best practices in these workouts, men should be in a position to see excellent results after a good amount of consistent workout.

As you look for a nice gym to join as a beginner, it is pivotal to know which exercise machines are the best for your workout. First, the chest press equipment will yield excellent results followed by dumbbell flys and dips. All these work to activate over 70% of muscle so that you can change the look of your chest.

How to start easily at home

If you do not have time or money to enroll at a fancy gym that has all manner of equipment, there is no need to worry. Men can tone their chest muscles easily at home with proper discipline. The most effective method being; push ups. They are well known in military recruitment circles and they also work wonders. Even though muscle activation is at about 61 percent, with proper discipline, men can get more out of them. They are known for triple action which is strengthening your arms, shoulders and chest.

The best way to perform push up is to find a nice flat area that is comfortable. Tighten the abdominals to achieve a straight back. Elbows should be squarely on your side. Lower your body slowly with hands under the shoulders; then push up. Beginners should take time to feel the change in their body as they workout. There is no need to burn out at the start; but as the workouts progress, you should increase the sets and repetitions accordingly.

After people have known the right workouts and equipment, consistency is necessary if you want to see any lasting results. In fact, most people give up on the chest workout not because they do not know how to exercise; but because they are not commitment to the end goal. Therefore, it is useless to learn all the basics and not follow through. Therefore, make up your mind and draw up a time-table. Do not engage your will-power to find strength to workout, but rather establish a routine that you do not have to think about. With this, you will achieve a toned chest to the delight of admirers. Most importantly, this is the right direction to better health.

Loved the information here but I HAD to point out that Dwayne (the Rock) does have fake pecks. He is not a good example to be using a picture of. A lot of men who can’t build a chest the way they desire get this done just like women body builders get fake breasts after losing them from muscle gains. No big deal. Great information though. Bookmarked!
